Hester's twin brother, Henry Marion Wikle, and the other brothers, Jeptha, Samuel, and John moved texas to live. Henry Marion did however, return to visit Hester 50 years after the war's end, ca. 1915.
There are many variations in the spelling of the surname 'Weigel'. The North Carolina birth records indicate Samuel's surname spelled as Weigel; the marriage records indicate Samuel's surname spelled as Wickel. Most later records in Georgia and Texas render the surname as Wikle ‎(though in the 1860 Census it was spelled Wackle)‎.o Kansas in 1861, fought for the Union during the War Between the States, and never returned to T
